➡️ Start: Sicily, Bari, Calabria – where watermelons get the most sun.
The season lasts from June to October, and the best varieties grow where the soil and climate do their job.
After harvesting – calibration, packing into pallet boxes, and labeling.
Before the watermelon goes on the road, it passes through the hands of people who know how important every detail is – from size to aesthetics.
Then it travels through northern hubs (Verona, Padua) and from there straight to Poland.
Often, the Italians deliver the goods up to midnight, and we take over from there. This works efficiently and reduces travel time.
️ Temperature? 12–15°C. It often requires gradual cooling – watermelons from the field can be as hot as 35°C.
Cooling too quickly could damage the fruit, so the refrigeration units work as planned: gradually, without any shock.
At the end: Gliwice, Piotrków, Bydgoszcz – the chain’s distribution centers.
And there… the driver not only delivers but also unloads.
Even before unloading: quality control – size, color, and absence of damage.
Even though it’s cooler than hot outside, a watermelon like this is a small consolation, a taste of summer fresh from store shelves. During the season, about 50 trucks arrive in Poland each week. We’re not slowing down; this is exactly what the logistics of seasonal goods look like.
