Maritime transport is an irreplaceable tool in cargo transportation, especially when point B is hundreds of thousands of kilometers away from point A. However, distance is not the only factor that matters in this field. Precision, experience, and readiness to operate in non-standard conditions are key. Monika Pater, Key Account Manager at POLFROST, talks about working in this demanding industry, the satisfaction of completing difficult projects, and her plans for the future. ️
Monika, what makes your work at POLFROST unique?
My job is primarily to organize sea transport, focusing on the US. I carry out a variety of projects, from small LCL shipments to full container loads. At the same time, I pay special attention to shipments that can be combined using specialized equipment. This means facing challenges that at first glance may seem impossible to overcome.
What gives you the most satisfaction?
Definitely orders that require technical precision and commitment. I am particularly interested in large-size shipments, which often involve the integration of different means of transport – coordinating deliveries within multimodal transport. Solving problems such as optimizing processes in difficult operating conditions.
Why transportation?
It’s a field where there’s no room for monotony. Each project is an individually developed solution. From scratch – like tailor-made clothing. And is there anything more motivating than the feeling that the years spent learning and improving your skills have a real impact on the success of your projects? Being part of a larger puzzle that brings different elements together gives me enormous satisfaction.
What are your plans for 2025?
To develop cooperation with companies that need support in organizing demanding logistics projects. The energy, shipbuilding, and machinery industries are the sectors that are increasingly looking for specialists capable of meeting transport challenges. I want POLFROST to be their first choice.
